How was Brazil Founded ? Brazil as we know it today was founded when the Spanish and Portuguese
empires signed the Treaty of Torsedillas sometime in the 1500s. Both
the Spanish and Portuguese had started colonies in South America, and
wanting to avoid a war over whose lads was whose, they signed the treaty
of Torsedillas stating that everything North of the Rio de la Plata and
Paraná rivers and East of the Andes mountain range was property of
Portugal, which later names the region Brazil. Because accurate maps of
the continent were not yet available, neither the Portuguese nor the
Spanish knew how much land that space included.
Language Of Brazil : Language is one of the strongest elements of Brazil's national unity.
Portuguese is spoken by nearly 100 percent of the population. There is about as much difference between the Portuguese spoken in
Brazil and that spoken in Portugal as between the English spoken in the
United States and that spoken in the United Kingdom. Within Brazil,
there are no dialects of Portuguese, but only moderate regional
variation in accent, vocabulary, and use of personal nouns, pronouns,
and verb conjugations.
Climate: mostly tropical, but temperate in south
Food In Brazil :
Great start, but this needs to be completed.
